7 Color Contrasts With Risography
Exploding with color, information and inspiration, "7 Color Contrasts with Risography" is a vibrant guide to the power of contrast in visual communication as explored through the medium of RISO printing.
The new edition includes a fold out chart that maps the hue and saturation of 26 riso colors, a color bias wheel that translates the logic of a painter’s palette to risography, and a separate color index that draws attention to the inherent lightness of riso colors printed at their full saturation.
The first edition of 7 Color Contrast with Risography is archived at the Harvard Houghton Library and The Cooper Hewitt. It was featured by Printed Matter at New York Art Book Fair in 2024.

“The seven sections of the book give a primarily visual overview of established color theory, but what makes the book so wonderful is the beauty with which Fossey explores the concepts she is studying.” -Russell Maret
“Throughout Fossey’s technical and artistic explorations, the Riso registration is surprisingly precise." -Russell Maret
“This book is a valuable resource that I believe deserves a wider audience. I hope that when it sells out Fossey will be willing to produce a second printing.” -Russell Maret
